Speaking of which, THANK YOU! To all of you that have visited the website, looked through your photos, and supported us by purchasing prints, posters, and books – I’m so glad that you found photos that you wanted to keep for yourself! We continue to look for more ballroom dance, portraits, weddings, and other events to photograph this year, and we have some lined up already. (If you need any help with photography for your, your family, or your business, please let me know.)

I am working on changes to the website that hopefully will bring some new features that you have requested. It will be a work in progress, so let me know if you run into any problems. I hope that it will still be as accessible and easy to use as the old system, and I will test it thoroughly. If you have any other suggestions as to products that we could offer, or other changes that we may be able to incorporate into the site, please let me know.

Being a former member of Juxtaposition, a college a cappella group from Virginia Tech, I was automatically hooked on this show. (I spent a lot of my extra college money on CDs which has transitioned to a downloading habit!) When this show debuted a few seasons ago, I was excited to have another vehicle to see new a cappella groups in a well-produced show. There were groups that I was very familiar with and lots of group that I had never been exposed to performing each week. There was an audience for the show from the first season, so there were an uptick in the amount of internet traffic regarding this form of music. From this, I was lucky to find out that an a cappella music festival was held locally called SingStrong. The organizers graciously gave me access to photograph the groups, workshops, and the concerts – all of which were donated in support of Alzheimer’s research. The featured performers were prominently featured in the The Sing Off including Nota in 2010 and Street Corner Symphony in 2011. This was an amazing opportunity for me to see what was new and upcoming in a cappella up close with the latest in techniques, technologies and musicians that are pushing creative limits and making amazing music. This season is the largest yet – more groups, more rounds of competition, and another episode is on tonight. It will be another great event organized by the DC Area Arthur Murray dance studios with enthusiastic students and instructors cheering on their friends as they show off their hard work from the studio on the big floor. It is always a good time, and the dancers love to view their photos as we go through them, and we can’t wait to get some great photos of the professional shows that cap the event on Saturday night.
